Find your calm at my friendly and inclusive Hatha Yoga classes.
I run weekly yoga classes in Stourbridge at The Bonded Warehouse, Amblecote Church Hall and Ashwood Park Primary School. I am a certified British Wheel of Yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience.

You will find a calm and friendly environment in all of my classes. A typical Yogabridges class includes a range of yoga poses (asanas), controlled breathing (pranayama) and meditation or relaxing guided visualisation. You will practice asanas where you will fold forwards, backwards and sideways, working in twists and balances to build strength and increase flexibility.

My classes are suitable for beginners as well as those who have practised yoga for some time. I offer alternative positions for most poses to allow my students to safely work within their limitations or to challenge themselves (if they want to!). So whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been at it for years, here you will find a practice that suits you.

Classes
Most of my classes are 90-minute sessions (60-minutes for the Wednesday class at Amblecote Church Hall), and you can choose to either pay as you go or pay for a block of classes up front for a discounted rate.

All about hatha yoga

What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga is the traditional practice of asanas (physical poses), pranayama (breath control) and meditation to bring balance to both the body and the mind.
Various styles of yoga, including Iyengar Yoga, Heart Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Yin Yoga, Hot Yoga, and Power Yoga, all originate from Hatha Yoga, but with a particular focus - for example, Iyengar’s style often uses props such as blocks and belts as aids for achieving asanas.

What are the benefits of regular yoga practice?
The benefits of regular yoga practice are endless! For your physical body, regular practice will improve flexibility, strength, balance, posture, blood circulation, boost the immune system and make the heart and lungs stronger. All of which are important for everyone, but especially as we age.
For your mind, yoga can help with reducing stress, depression and anxiety, while improving self-esteem. Pranayama (breath control) can be a particularly useful tool for people who live with chronic pain, as it can help manage pain. Many people also find that their sleep improves when they start practising yoga regularly.

Are Yogabridges classes suitable for you?
My classes are a great place to start for anyone new to yoga, as well as those who have plenty of experience and who enjoy a varied and traditional approach to their practice.
During my British Wheel of Yoga teacher training, I learned about various ‘styles’ of Hatha Yoga. I like to include elements of Yin, Iyengar and Vinyasa yoga (and others) in my classes because it gives me plenty of scope to offer a wide variety of content that my students enjoy, without the limitations of sticking to a particular method.
